The Cool Drop: Notes on What Caught My Eye
Highlights from a week guided by instinct over intention.
Not much explanation needed here. Each of the discoveries below simply spoke to me this week, and in turn, I felt excited to share them with you.
So here we are.
Huelleyrose
Both design and creative direction too striking to ignore. Founded in 2021 in Saigon, Vietnam, Huelleyrose focuses on bold silhouettes and a dedication to personal fit. The brand carries an unmistakable point of view and reflects a rising generation of Vietnamese designers who are empowering through beauty and self-expression. A brand I was very excited to discover.
Emily Rose Wright
Artist Emily Rose Wright earned her BFA in painting with a concentration in computation, technology, and culture from RISD only three years ago. Her work blends digital and physical techniques, builds layered textures, and moves between abstraction and figuration. The compositions feel haunting, minimal, and unresolved in a way that opens the work to interpretation. It is art that invites you to look longer.
Morales Cortes

With experience at Grace Wales Bonner and Alexander McQueen, Jaime Morales Cortes launched their made-to-order label with a desire for something slower, more methodical, and more intentional. Each piece feels sculptural and intimate. The origami-like details and delicately crafted silk organza alone make this designer one to watch.
Just One Eye
Recently named one of the 50 best clothing stores in America by The New York Times, Just One Eye is a place of pilgrimage. Founder Paolo Russo opened the shop after serving as Creative Director for Los Angeles boutique Maxfield. The store feels like a gallery, carrying an eclectic mix of high-end fashion, art, and design. Bury me here.
I would love to know your latest discovery. Founder, artist, creative, anything. Share the wealth in the comments.
Talk to you there,
Kelly
